At Ojai Valley School, your child will discover a love of athletics through our physical education program, which encourages teamwork, physical exercise, and a desire to pursue individual excellence on and off the playing field.
In pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade, physical education focuses on developing motor skills and coordination in a non-competitive setting, while encouraging children to form positive attitudes about themselves and physical activity.
Beginning in third grade, your child will learn about various sports and will start to play unscored games. By the third grade, your child will be playing intramural games such as soccer and flag football and could opt to participate in the equestrian program.
In middle school, your child will have the opportunity to play a full schedule of interscholastic sports, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis and swimming.
Our campus athletic facilities include a beautiful heated pool, sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, and a large playground and sand box for our younger children. Our goal is to give children the opportunity to find a physical activity they will enjoy and awaken in them an appreciation for exercise and physical fitness that will be with them a lifetime.
