Welcome to Ojai Valley Lower School

As Headmaster of the Lower School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Ojai Valley School website.

 

In exploring our pages, you will quickly see that Ojai Valley School supports a rich and diverse community of day and resident students from around the world. Truly an international school, our students represent more than ten countries, six states, and twenty cities from across California.  Step onto our campus and you will discover an environment alive with academic exploration, music, art, drama, horseback riding, athletics, and technological innovation. You will also discover an outdoor education program that takes advantage of our unique setting in the beautiful Ojai Valley while also giving students an appreciation for California’s mountains, deserts, and beaches.

 

Founded in 1911, OVS was established on values that are still central to our mission today. We strive to maintain a balanced approach in educating children with an emphasis on building the character of our students while nurturing their creative, musical, and athletic interests.  

 

I am proud of our experienced and talented faculty who continue to maintain high academic standards while also coaching sports teams, working with resident students in dorms, leading camping and backpacking trips, and capitalizing on the many opportunities to build strong and lasting relationships with students.
